The Run/Walk For Life programme is a three-times-a-week exercise plan. This allows your muscles enough time to recover and reduces risk of injury. All of the walking and running programmes suit any age or fitness level and ability, and promote weight loss, stress relief and many other medical benefits. All memberships are for 6 or 12 months and can be paid in any number of ways. Once you have joined, your fitness levels will be assessed and you will be placed in a group according to your ability. The Run / Walk For Life programme is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels and for pregnant women. For those who are already fit, Run / Walk For Life is able to offer advanced fitness training too (over 200 of our members ran Comrades last year. Advancement up levels is gradual and according to a scientific formula, to ensure progress that is not too rapid, but similarly not to slow. Most beginners, who exercise on their own, often find it difficult to judge their pace and, as a result, may feel breathless or exhausted. On our programme, you will be taught to count your pulse rate and monitor your breathing so these problems will not be experienced. The scientific basis of the programme ensures that you stay comfortable, while receiving the optimum benefit from your exercise.
Pensioners pay only R150 per month.
