The Heart of Cape Town Museum
The Heart of Cape Town Museum Museum
The Heart of Cape Town Museum takes us back to the first ever successful heart transplant that was done by Professor Christiaan Neethling Barnard on 3 December 1967 in the Groote Schuur Hospital. Many people will remember this historical moment when medical history was made that changed the quality of life for so many people all over the world. A visit to the museum will take you back in history and research that led to the first transplant. You will visit the actual theatres where the operations took place and experience the emotional moments while recordings of Professor Chris Barnard will turn back the wheel of time.
